I want a real fire, advice please? - how to do chiney bang weave

I have built a house made of stone terraces in 1900, I took the gas stove and would like a real fire to get there
My Chiney right or need to do things with him?
What work can I do?
Where can I find information about it?

i sound thick, but I know nothing about these things and do not want all manufacturers to give me an appointment without having received some information about them.

first manufacturer to get a cycle, it is necessary to examine the chimney, it could recommend lining the chimney, because the former coal that was used several years ago, very acidic and can mortar rotted. Only visual inspection \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ right this.h Chimney Pot has been installed, or poorly prepared altered.if not drag with the right to be in the fire.
Ask your friends for a good producer or they know.
do well and for the first time and have very few problems.
Be sure to tell him what you plan to burn coal, coke or newspapers, etc.
Consider a device series, the much cleaner
and more controllable
Go to the AGA / Rayburn Site
Search Wenlock or low (a nice piece of kit and Built to Last)
by size or you can mostly Wenlock a little more (to the brochure most likely your AGA Rayburn .. / Showroom
Hope this helps

I get at least one call a manufacturer or a chimney sweep and to verify the location of the fire to May acceptable for a real fire, but no need to rent the current building codes and they were cleaned

I expect the fire to have a starting line, the best gas fireplace. It will probably be removed as the opening is too small for a coal / wood fire. You're seriously considering a wood stove or a multifuel stove. Much more effective. I have a first and a sort of open fireplace. Logburner is excellent, controllable and safe. Suppose you are in the UK to get a draw HETAS registered installer for advice. Homes are covered by the various building codes and any work they do or did have to stand in line - which ensures that no gas in your family or burn your house down. HETAS registered installers can self-certify the installation - if you have someone else to do when you get the local inspectors of the Council building and get to inspect.

The only way to really know whether your chinmey is ok, as it is, or will face the pressure checked. Given the age from home, it is likely that the need for coating. If you already just about no risk of bad spots on the walls of the room around the chest chinmey to death by carbon monoxide poisoning.

I agree with those who show that always a wood stove. It is much more efficient than a fireplace and wood is a renewable resource, with almost no net carbon footprint. Wood stoves are cozy and comfortable and look good! There are many, for use in smoke control zone authorizeda. We have a Morso owl Clearview further authorized, areas of smoke control, and a few others.

To adapt to a real fire, you have a basket full of fire and fire again. The pheasant is a form of refractory bricks for the bottom and sides of a fire of charcoal. You have a problem finding a place that still stocks these items. Ask your hardware store if you're searching for the fireplace you.As can specify, you can buy commercial plumbing, smoke tester to be placed in the house and light. then go and check that the smoke coming from the chimney. You can also see the room where the smoke through the stones.

It appears that you have a house where at first there was a real fireplace. It is a gas fired one at a later date.
Therefore, should simply change it.
1 - you need the chimney cleaned and inspected to determine whether it is safe to do so.
2 - Make sure that you have a certified auditor (try your local council building regulations, he should know somebody on the spot).
Good luck and enjoy (also saves on heating).

I do not know, and I will not give you informed advice, not like the others, so I suggest you ask people to remove the gas pipes. In any case, I know.

Consider a wood stove, much more effective. This work, which are probably more costly in the short term, but it's worth, you will see that gas bill collapse, and you get much more heat from the forest. I had tested my blood by Chiminey company meets the pan and you need take no food, but your house is older and his own, and need.
